Jessica%20Molaskey%20-%20Photo%202 An evening of scintillating wit and melodies will be on tap beginning March 15th when Jessica Molaskey and Dave Frishberg join forces in their new show, “Do You Miss New York?” The Broadway and award-winning cabaret and concert vocalist and the multiple Grammy-nominated jazz songwriter, pianist and vocalist will regale Oak Room audiences with “My Attorney Bernie,” “Can’t Take You No Where,” “Long Daddy Green,” “I Want to Be a Side Man,” as well as selections from The New Yorkers, a musical about the legendary Algonquin Round Table.

Shows during the March 15-April 2 engagement are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 and Friday and Saturday at 8:30 and 11, with a $50 cover charge per person weeknights and late shows and $60 for early shows Friday and Saturday, plus either a $30 food and beverage minimum or $60 prix fixe dinner, with dinner seating at 7 pm. Jessica Molaskey is a veteran of a dozen Broadway shows, including A Man of No Importance, Parade, Dream, Tommy, Crazy for You, Les Miserables, City of Angels, Chess, Cats and the recent revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George at Studio 54. She has premiered music by Ricky Ian Gordon, Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, Michael John LaChiusa and John Bucchino and has written songs for a dozen recordings, including Greed, part of a commission for Audra McDonald’s Seven Deadly Sins at Carnegie Hall. Other recordings include Fine and Dandy, Myths and Hymns and A Kiss to Build a Dream On.

Long celebrated as an outstanding jazz pianist, Dave Frishberg has also established himself as an internationally recognized composer and lyricist as well as well as a popular solo performer.. Four of his albums have won Grammy nominations for best jazz vocal. Frishberg’s unclassifiable but ever-identifiable songs include classic cult favorites “Peel Me A Grape,” “I’m Hip” and “Heart’s Desire,” as well as numbers from this Oak Room show. They have been recorded by Blossom Dearie, Mel Tormé, Rosemary Clooney, Diana Krall, Michael Feinstein, Bette Midler and Tony Bennett, among others. The New York Times’ Stephen Holden wrote about Frishberg, “In the refinement of his language, he is equalled only by Stephen Sondheim among contemporary American songwriters.”
